In August 2011 the ERA received a new facilities investment test application from Western Power for the Mid West Energy Project (Southern Section). The ERA approved an amount of $377.8 million for Western Power to construct a double circuit 330 kV transmission line between Neerabup and Three springs and a new terminal station interconnection the 132 kV and 330 kV transmission systems at Three Springs.
