The ERA approved an application from Western Power to be temporarily exempted from complying with the requirements of clause 2.5.4(b) (Normal Cyclic Rating Criterion) of the Transmission Planning Criteria in the Technical Rules at Meadow Springs zone substation until the completion of Stage 2 of the Mandurah load area investment strategy, or unless otherwise revoked under the provisions of the Electricity Networks Access Code 2004.
Western Power submitted an application to the ERA for an exemption from the Technical Rules in May 2015. As part of the consultation and review process, the ERA published an issues paper and invited interested parties to make submissions on Western Power’s application. One submission was received from Community Electricity.
The ERA engaged Geoff Brown and Associates as technical advisors to provide a report on Western Power’s exemption application.
The ERA received an application made under section 12.45 of the Access Code from Mr Stephen Davidson to revoke the exemption in December 2016.
