The Electricity Code Consultative Committee (ECCC) has commenced its statutory review of the Code of Conduct for the Supply of Electricity to Small Use Customers (2022).
The Electricity Code regulates and controls the conduct of retailers and distributors that supply electricity to residential and small business customers. The Code covers a broad range of areas including billing, payment, financial hardship, disconnection and complaints.
The objective of the ECCC’s review is to re-assess the suitability of the provisions of the Code for the purposes of the Electricity Industry Act 2004.

The ECCC has reviewed the Code and published a draft review report for public consultation which closed on 21 October 2024. Eight submissions received in response to the draft review report during the consultation period are now published below.
