The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) provided its proposal to the ERA on 16 September 2016. This was AEMO’s first allowable revenue submission since assuming responsibility for new functions on 30 November 2015, as part of the State Government's Energy Market Review.
AEMO’s submission replaced previous submissions made by the Independent Market Operator and System Management in November 2015 and February 2016 respectively. Rule changes were made on 1 July 2016 deeming these submissions to be withdrawn, and required AEMO to submit its own proposal by 16 September 2016. The ERA was required to make its determination by 16 December 2016.
