The Gas Services Information (GSI) Rules set out the requirements for the ERA’s determination for allowable revenue and forecast capital expenditure. These requirements include that costs must only consist of those that would be incurred by a prudent service provider, acting efficiently, and seeking to achieve the lowest practically sustainable cost of delivering the services in accordance with the rules.
On 30 November 2015, responsibility for the operation of the Gas Bulletin Board and other obligations under the Gas Services Information Rules transferred from the Independent Market Operator to the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).
On 30 June 2016, the GSI Rules were amended to deem the allowable revenue and forecast capital expenditure that was submitted by the Independent Market Operator on 24 August 2015 as withdrawn.
The allowable revenue and forecast capital expenditure for these services for the period 2016/17 to 2018/19 is included in AEMO’s submissions. The ERA’s determinations and AEMO’s submissions can be found here.
