On 5 November 2010, the ERA received a new facilities investment test application from Western Power to determine whether the forecast new facilities investment proposed by Western Power, to replace potentially unsafe overhead customer service connections meets the new facilities investment test.
In 2011 the ERA pre-approved investment of $71.1 million for Western Power to replace 104,600 potentially unsafe overhead customer service connections between 2009-10 to 2011-12.
