About the Economic Regulation Authority

The ERA is Western Australia's independent economic regulator. Our purpose is to benefit all Western Australians by promoting strong economic outcomes through effective regulation and decision making. We strive to make sure current and future consumers pay no more than necessary for safe and reliable utility services.

Recent Projects

2024 Electricity Code review

The ERA has completed a review of the Code of Conduct for the Supply of Electricity to Small Use Customers (2022), making changes to streamline requirements for customers to register as users of life support equipment.

Public Transport Authority

Following changes to the Railways (Access) Code 2000, the ERA is reviewing a number of access instruments for the Public Transport Authority's passenger rail network.

Access arrangement 2026 to 2030

The ERA is reviewing the access arrangement for the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline - one of the largest capacity natural gas transmission pipelines in Australia.
